Artist Member Night: Puppet Making (Part I)
Mingle with fellow artists and members for an evening of art-marking.
From Wayang kulit in Indonesia to Tholu bommalata shadow play in India and beyond, puppets have delighted and informed audiences throughout the globe for centuries. Hear from Associate Curator of Southeast Asian Art Dr. Natasha Reichle to find inspiration from puppets in the museum’s theatrical arts collection, then design your very own puppets with artist Risa Iwaskai Culbertson.
We’ll reconvene on May 7 for a special edition of Artist Member Night during CAAMFest to share our puppet show!
