Lacquerware has been a treasured luxury item throughout Asia for centuries. High-quality lacquer is especially precious because of the skill, time, and expense required to produce it. Over time, it has been worked in ways that are functional, protective, and beautiful. Revel in some of the gorgeous lacquer items from the Asian Art Museum’s collection.

This one-hour virtual lecture by one of our community speaker docents is followed by a half-hour Q&A.
