Virtual Lecture Series: Beyond Bollywood

Online via Zoom

Register to Attend

Long before Bollywood films, dance played an especially meaningful part in the religious and cultural traditions of South and Southeast Asia and the Himalayas. Examine its influence on the visual arts in five categories: destruction and creation, devotion, subjugation, glorification, and celebration. Objects show how dance was, and continues to be, a ubiquitous art form in the Indian culture sphere.

This one-hour virtual lecture by one of our community speaker docents is followed by a half-hour Q&A.
