Teacher Workshop: Japanese American Artists and Postwar Identity
Learn strategies for using primary sources by artists who experienced the Japanese Internment and postwar recovery to explore themes of identity, community and memory.
Expanding on the museum’s special fall exhibition, Changing and Unchanging Things: Noguchi and Hasegawa in Postwar Japan, this workshop features a lecture by Professor Mark Johnson of the School of Art at San Francisco State University and activities facilitated by Shannon Murphy, head of education at the Noguchi Museum.
