Mahjong at the Museum
Join the Mahjong Movement — no experience necessary!
Every second Sunday, join us at the museum for drop-in games of Mahjong. Need to learn how to play or brush up on the rules? We’ve got helpful teachers ready to welcome you into the game. Chat with new friends, listen to great tunes, and snack on Pocky, hawthorn berry, and White Rabbit sweets.

About Mahjong Movement
Presented by the Delta Chinatown Initiative and Chinatown Renaissance, the Mahjong Movement aims to bring people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures together through this communal game. No game is more representative of Chinese American culture than Mahjong: the Chinese American roots of its popularity were forged during the 1950s and 1960s with the rise of suburbanization. For upcoming game locations, visit @mahjongmovement on Instagram.
This event is part of Sundays at the Museum. See all upcoming Sundays at the Museum events.
Free admission on the first Sunday of every month is made possible by Northern California Kaiser Permanente.
