At 2 PM, the Heiwa Taiko drum ensemble fills the museum’s first floor with the spiritually resonant rhythms of taiko, a two-thousand-year-old art form known as ‘the heartbeat of Japan.’
Meanwhile, our special exhibition Rave into the Future hosts a “baby rave” featuring DJ Chico Chi — an opportunity for our youngest visitors to find community on the dance floor, featuring music under 85 decibels. When Rave into the Future reopens to the public at 3 PM, DJ Chico Chi keeps the party going with a half-hour set for all ages to enjoy.
