Opening Celebration for Vishnu's Cosmic Ocean
Cambodia’s most important bronze artwork arrives in the Bay Area with a special ceremony.
Join us in celebrating the opening of Vishnu’s Cosmic Ocean, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Southeast Asia’s largest ancient bronze in San Francisco.
Witness a traditional Cambodian Buddhist temple water blessing as the Asian Art Museum welcomes the monumental, nearly twenty-foot-long statue before it returns to Cambodia.
The blessed water offers wishes for protection, good fortune, and well-being to the historical artwork as well as all ceremony attendees. The experience will be followed by a Khmer dance performance.
