About the exhibition:
Kallat’s installation engages with sounds and images from the Golden Records (gold-plated phonograph LPs) launched into space in 1977, carried by NASA’s Voyager 1 and 2 and now traveling over 13 billion miles away.
“In an embattled and accelerated world, Covering Letter (Terranum Nuncius) offers a chance to think about the passage of time at a different scale…as well as an opportunity to reflect on humanity’s common ground.” – Padma Dorje Maitland, Associate Curator, Art of the Indian Subcontinent
