About the Guest Artists
Born in Seoul, Sojin Oh (@sojinails) transitioned from a distinguished career in fashion to revolutionize the art of nail design. Drawing from diverse inspirations — culinary textures, water droplets, automobiles, and architecture — her pioneering designs have sparked a global movement and inspired a new generation of artists.
Oh’s work has been featured in Fondation Louis Vuitton and publications including Wallpaper, Surface, Vogue, and Vanity Fair. She has created for brands such as Miu Miu, Loewe, and Off-White and collaborated with artists including Björk, CL, Lisa of BLACKPINK, Bibi, Arca, Billie Eilish, Grimes, and Rosalía, as well as pop culture icons including Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, and Kim Kardashian. Her continually evolving practice is establishing nail art as a distinguished form of contemporary artistic expression.
Kero One is a Korean American musician born and raised in the Bay Area who fell in love with vintage jazz, soul, and hip-hop at a young age. Known as a rapper, producer, and DJ, Kero has been recognized for reviving the jazz hip-hop / lo-fi sound in the early 2000s. Despite a cosign from Stevie Wonder and producing a #1 hit song in Korea, Kero remained independent, underground, and true to his jazzy, groovy roots – even when collaborating with some of Korea’s biggest hip-hop artists, including Dynamic Duo and Epik High.
Kero’s first album “Reflection Eternal” appeared on various best-of lists and was promoted by K-pop superstar V from BTS. In July of 2024, Kero released “Fuzzy Logic,” with a world tour planned for the end of the year.
Hallyu! The Korean Wave is organized by the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco. Presentation is made possible with the generous support of the E. Rhodes and Leona B.
