Docent Talks: Water-Moon Guanyin/Avalokiteshvara

Join us for an in-depth look at a key artwork from the collection.

Enliven your visit with an in-depth look at a key artwork from the collection. Each twenty-minute talk highlights a single artwork. The Water-Moon Guanyin is a compassionate deity that contemplates the illusion of the world while offering mercy to suffering devotees. Wooden statue depictions like this one were central to eleventh-century Chinese Buddhist monasteries.

Meet in gallery 16, Chinese Art (3rd floor).

This event is included with General Admission.
