The patterned textiles called bojagi and their artful wrapping techniques have been a highly visible part of Korean culture for centuries. Traditionally used to cover, protect, and adorn gifts, bojagi find a wide range of applications throughout Korean life, from transporting everyday items to the preservation of precious relics.
Participants will receive Medicube skincare products to practice wrapping, creating an experience that merges beauty, culture, and craftsmanship.
The workshop is accompanied by a talk detailing how winters and holiday seasons are celebrated in Korea by Assistant Curator for Korean Art Yoon-Jee Choi, curator of Hallyu! The Korean Wave. Through a close look at the color themes of bojagi textiles and accessories, this curatorial talk offers a unique insight into Korean popular culture.
Your ticket includes the program and materials, plus admission to the special exhibition Hallyu! The Korean Wave. While you’re at the museum, don’t miss The Hallyuverse presenting K-pop Random Play Dance from 12 to 2 PM.

Nossi, based in Los Angeles, offers workshops in the Korean art of bojagi, a traditional, reusable wrapping cloth. Bojagi reflects Korean culture’s deep respect for heritage, using time-honored techniques for wrapping, carrying, and storing items. Founded by Ellen Lee, a former freelance writer for the Korea Times and food stylist, Nossi bridges Korean and American cultures. Through bojagi, Lee fulfills her dream, hoping to inspire others to explore their cultural narratives.
