Virtual Lecture Series | Awaken: A Tibetan Buddhist Journey Toward Enlightenment

10 AM | Online via Zoom

For Buddhists, enlightenment is an “awakening” that can take many lifetimes. Roughly a thousand years ago, Tibetan religious leaders began to cultivate a form of Buddhism that aimed to convey practitioners to enlightenment very rapidly. Much of the art created to assist in this journey is intended for meditation; with its multilimbed divinities and complicated geometric diagrams, it can be challenging at first glance. This talk explores some of the Tibetan Buddhist art meant as a catalyst to jump-start the awakening process, taking practitioners from confusion and dissatisfaction toward clarity, integration, and liberation.

This one-hour virtual lecture by one of our community speaker docents is followed by a half-hour Q&A.
